Steak Pizza
1 flank steak or skirt steak
1 bottle Pinot Pepper Sauce or Pinot Chipotle Sauce
I recipe pizza dough
Red onion
Olive oil
Salt
Marinara sauce: 1 can chopped tomatoes, 1 can tomato sauce, garlic, onion, sugar, salt.
Mozzarella
Marinate steak in 1 cup Pinot Pepper sauce in a plastic bag over night or for several hours. Grill steak until rare to medium-rare. Sauté red onions in olive oil until soft and slightly caramelized, set aside. Chop onion and garlic and sauté in oil until soft. Add can of chopped tomatoes and can of tomato sauce. Simmer, season with salt and pepper and a little sugar. Drizzle in ¼ cup Pinot Pepper Sauce. Roll out pizza dough and top with marinara sauce and red onions, then lay slices of mozzarella over the top. Bake at 500 degrees for about 10 minutes, until the crust is browned and cheese is bubbling. While it’s cooking, slice steak very thinly, then spread steak over pizza as soon as it comes out. Drizzle a little Pinot Pepper sauce over the top of the steak while it’s still warm, then slice and eat!
